Visiting Artist Committee
Members of this committee facilitate the Visiting Artist program of the Art & Design Dept., often partnering with other departments to host guest artists and critics. My responsibilities have included researching, recruiting, publicizing, hosting, and attending to other logistical details associated with these visitors.

2010
Art 101 Ad Hoc Search Committee
The charge of this committee was to hire a visiting faculty to teach Art 101. My responsibilities included reviewing applicants, interviewing candidates, and facilitating campus visits for candidates.

2009 - 2010
Gallery Committee
The charge of this committee was to advise the faculty member coordinating the Padnos Gallery. As Gallery Coordinator, my responsibilities included relating the progress of the gallery to the committee and proposing new initiatives. These included formalizing the process to apply for off-campus BFA exhibits and drafting a non-censorship policy.

PR Committee
Members manage departmental website and printed matter related to A&D promotion. My responsibilities were to assist in the editing of the most recent Art & Design viewbook, to assist in the research and decision-making process that shaped the website re-design, and to offer perspective on publicity related to my role as Padnos Gallery Coordinator.

Art 101 Ad Hoc Committee
The charge of this committee was to propose alternate solutions for the large-format lecture model of instruction currently offered as Art & Design’s sole General Education course. My responsibilities included collaborating on this proposal.

International Committee
My responsibilities included reviewing course catalog descriptions to assess which classes from international institutions can be transferred directly as GVSU courses, and cross-checking these courses with relevant as Art & Design faculty.

Orientation Committee, Chair
The charge of this committee is to organize the annual Freshmen Orientation event that occurs prior to the beginning of fall semester classes. My responsibilities included: writing letters of invitation to incoming students, working with office staff to coordinate their mailing and to assemble informational packets for each attending student, tracking the number of attending students and family members, ordering food and reserving tables, inviting GVSU President Haas and representatives from the CLAS Dean’s office to speak, writing remarks for the Unit Head, recruiting and assisting faculty and student volunteers in leading orientation sessions, coordinating an exhibit in the Padnos Gallery that informs incoming students and their family members about off-campus course offerings, coordinating with committee members to set up and break down the event.

Visual Studies/Foundations Ad-Hoc Search Committee
The charge of this committee was to hire a tenure-track faculty in Visual Studies/ Foundations. My responsibilities include assisting in editing the call for applications and candidate evaluation forms, reviewing applicants, interviewing candidates, and facilitating campus visits for candidates.

Padnos Endowed Chair Investigatory Committee
The charge for this committee was to solicit suggestions from the Dept. on the Padnos Endowed Chair Position and to craft proposals for alternate structures for the position.

Admissions Committee
Members review incoming freshmen portfolios for admission and incoming student portfolios for transfer credit in A&D, and review and recommend revisions of the criteria and processes used for admissions. My responsibilities focused on Transfer Student Reviews and review processes.

Members assist Dept. Chair with coordination of department hardware and software that is not provided and maintained by IT. My responsibilities included coordinating and maintaining Padnos Gallery hardware in my role as Gallery Coordinator.

Members craft the minor proposal and new course proposals associated with the LGBTQ minor, and will work to implement of the minor within the Women and Gender Studies Department in the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies.

The charge of this committee is to determine and support the exhibition program at the UICA. In addition, I donate work to the UICA fundraising event Live Coverage, and assist in other fund-raising events as volunteer.
