A N N A C A M P B E L L : bio

Anna Campbell was born in Port Jefferson, New York, and grew up in the Midwest.  Her engagement with sculpture was encouraged by a year-long course of study at the Akademisches Gymnasium in Willich, Germany. Campbell first became interested in video installation at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. She returned to New York briefly to intern as an artist assistant before receiving her BA.  Between undergraduate and graduate school, Campbell worked at the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, focusing on administrative work related to public art. Campbell studied sculpture, installation, public art and video at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her MFA.  She is currently living and working in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is Assistant Professor of Sculpture in the Art & Design Department at Grand Valley State University.
